Truckies is a short haul transportation company that aggregates mini trucks and delivery vans, providing successful intra-city business deliveries in Delhi-NCR.
We aggregate delivery vehicles (like Mahindra Champion, Eeco, Tata Ace, Mahindra Pickup, Tata 407, Canters etc) from the market and provide them to our customers that includes companies from industries like E-commerce, F&B, Perishable Supplies, Logistics, Retail & Distribution, Laundry, Dairy, etc.
Thereby, earning a commission of around 10% on each monthly transaction that currently averages around Rs. 31000 per vehicle, earning us a profit of over Rs. 3000 per vehicle.
We are currently differentiating from our competition (including startups like Porter, Shippr & traditional transporters & vehicle aggregators) by working on problem areas like:
(1) Lack of Service Standards
(a)by providing location-based Contingency Planning options
(b)by maintaining daily Issue Logs & creating an informed penalty/incentive structure around good service
(c)by providing options to clients for real-time GPS tracking of vehicles
(2) Lack of On-demand Vehicle Availability
(a)by maintaining excess fleet from each target locations for clients
(3) Lack of Justifiable Pricing
(a)by creating a fixed & effective formula to calculate vendor and customer rates
(b)by Optimizing Vehicle-hours in a way that allows (1) increased earning per truck for the owner, (2) more profits for us & (3) competitive rates for the end user
Starting from October 2015, we have done Rs. 1.25 crore worth of revenue till date, having operated over 400 monthly vehicles, and having worked with over 20 clients like Mahindra Logistics, Amazon, Flipkart, Grofers, DS group, Groots, Swajal, Delhi Mandi, Dot etc.
Our primary method of acquisition is Personal Selling and we focus on providing good service to our clients for retention and up-selling.
In the next 18 months, our aim is to improve our technology offering (by building an in house tech team to create a platform that allows real-time tracking of trucks, provides end to end vehicle monitoring & alerts, automated contingency solutions & automated vendor & driver evaluation indices) and to increase our annual revenue to upwards of Rs. 7 crore ( by growing average 14% month on month).
During these 18 months, we also plan to build a long haul transportation inter-city on-demand truck booking platform that aims at providing competitive rates to both B2C and B2B clients.
Our team includes Jitesh Sharma who takes care of business growth (both clients & vendors) and Nitish Guglani who takes care of business ops.
Jitesh is an MBA in Marketing from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management with over 4 years of experience in Sales & Relationship Management roles in Citibank & Truckies.
Nitish is an experienced Entrepreneur with over 6 years of experience in Service industry working in sectors like F&B, Furnishing & Retail.
Both own 50% each of the company.
We are looking to raise Rs. 40 lakh for 20% equity to be invested in Growing our business, Product Development & running our day-to-day Business Operations, while ensuring we are operationally profitable within 6 months.
